Recognition as Filipino
Overview of Our Services
Our Firm evaluates and, if complete, endorses the application to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for the issuance of the visa. We will also help the applicant complete and/or prepare the documentary requirements if necessary.
What is the process called Recognition as Filipino?
This is an act of acknowledging Filipino citizenship by a person who is a citizen of another state or country, but whose father/mother was a Filipino citizen at the time of the applicant's birth. This also recommended to applicants who may not qualify for dual citizenship status.
Who Can Apply?
Under the 1987 Philippine Constitution, any citizen of a foreign country whose father or mother was a Filipino citizen at the time of his birth shall be eligible for recognition as Filipino citizen.
If the applicant was born before the effectivity of the 1973 Philippine Constitution, it is also required that both parents were still Filipino citizens at the time of birth of the applicant.
