He practiced aviation law in Europe, Middle East, and Africa from 2014 to 2018 and served as General Counsel for Wataniya Airways – a national airline in the State of Kuwait. He has represented Wataniya Airways in the negotiations with AIRBUS and EMBRAER in the multi-billion dollar Aircraft Purchase Agreements, as announced in the Dubai Airshow 2017 and Farnborough Airshow UK in 2018. Primarily, he represents commercial airlines in Operating Leases, Aircraft Purchase Agreements, Aircraft Finance, and Sale and Leaseback transactions. He has advised and represented commercial Airlines in its dealings pertaining to Operating Lease Agreements and Sale and Leaseback transactions with various Commercial Aircraft Lessors such as GECAS, AerCap, CDB, ICBC, BOC, SMBC, AirCastle, Nordic Aviation Capital, BBAM, Avalon, Jackson Square Aviation, and Macquarie AirFinance. He has also worked together with top aviation law firms in the world concerning operating lease agreements and sale and leaseback transactions. He has also negotiated various commercial Aircraft Wet Lease transactions and Capacity Purchase Agreements and has worked with Commercial Air Transport Operators and Wet Lease Operators worldwide such as Bulgaria Air, Small Planet, SmartLynx, and Olympus Airways. His recent works include (a) Purchase Agreement with Airbus for 25 Airbus A320Neos; (b) Purchase Agreement with Embraer S.A. for 10 E195-E2;(c)Operating Lease Agreements with Air Arabia for two Airbus A320s and its Deliveries to Wataniya;(d)A320 Wet Lease Agreement with Smartlynx;(e)A319 Wet Lease Agreement with Bulgaria Air;(f) Wet Lease Agreements for two A319s with Olympus Airways;(f)Charter Agreements with Himalayan Air and SalamAir for Airbus A320s; (g)Operating Lease Agreements with AerCap for three E915-E2; (h) Operating Lease Agreements with ICBC/Sky Leasing for three E195-E2; and (i) Operating Lease Agreements with Nordic Aviation Capital/Aldus Portfolio for two E190-200; (j)Entry Into Service of E190-200. In the Philippines, he focuses on civil and family law, intellectual property, criminal law and cybercrime, and immigration litigation. He is also specializing in complex corporate and transactional legal services and experienced in managing complex transactions on Technology, and Intellectual Property. He has more than 23 years of experience in various types of litigation and has handled transactions and controversies involving local and international corporations. He represented foreigners who have pending cases in immigration and the Courts. He has represented companies in Europe, India, Middle East, and the Maldives in handling cross-border commercial transactions and having represented international corporations in international business transactions. He has also advised international law firm JonesDay on matters about Philippine Internet Technology and Telecommunications. Alex also established HUMA Aviation Philippines in 2010 which owns and operates a fleet of Seaplanes such as Cessna Caravan 208, Cessna 206 G, and Cessna 180.
