CEBU CITY. GTALAW Managing Partner, Alexander Llanes Acain, Jr. has been named the 13th Memorial Lecturer of the Don Matias H. Aznar II Memorial Lecture Series in recognition of the many outstanding contributions he has made to the community and to the honor he has brought to Southwestern University, Cebu City in his very successful career as a lawyer.

The lecture series was inaugurated in 1994 by the School Administrators of Southwestern University in honor of the late founding father of the University Don Matias H. Aznar II  in continuing the tribute to his many invaluable contributions to the field of education and Philantropy.  The Memorial Lecture is presented each year by Southwestern University on the occasion of the founding Anniversary of the University and in celebration of the birthday of Don Matias H. Aznar II.

Atty. Alexander Llanes Acain, Jr. presented his lecture entitled "Global Challenges of the 21st Century" at the Don Matias H. Aznar II Memorial Coliseum at Urgello Streets, Cebu City on August 13, 2007. Past lecturers were Congresswoman Clavel Asas Martinez, Governor Pablo Garcia, DENR Secretary Elizea Gozun, DOLE Undersecretary Atty. Josephus Jimenez, PRC Regional Director Dr. Delia Mediano, Department of Health Undersecretary Margarita Galon and Ombudsman Margarito Gervacio.
